Infosys asked to furnish B1 visa details by US court
Bangalore: A US court has asked Infosys Technologies to furnish details about the firm’s sponsorships of B1 business visas, the firm said in a filing with the BSE. The company has received a subpoena from a Grand Jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. It requires that Infosys provide the Grand Jury certain documents and records related to both sponsorships and uses of B1 business visas. Infosys said it would comply with the Subpoena and cooperate with the Grand Jury's investigation.
Infosys has recently come under fire from multiple quarters over its visa usage. A top US lawmaker had recently demanded investigations against the company for alleged visa misuse in a letter to the secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
