COVER CLASH | ELLE FANNING VS. NAYASHA MATONHODZE
In which we pit two of the covers for Love #6 against each other, one with Elle Fanning (Below Left) and one with Nayasha Matonhodze (Below Right). Do you agree without our outcome below? It’s okay. You don’t have to. We’re always right.
LOVE #6: ELLE FANNING VS. NAYASHA MATONHODZE WHOSE ISSUE HAS THE BEST…
Typography: Nayasha
Both are unimpeachable, but the stark black-and-white LOVE on Nayasha’s cover is just nuts. A win by a nose.
Layout: Elle
I like that Elle’s cover is a little top-heavy and pulls you into her eyes.
Model/Star: Nayasha
We’ve already seen a lot of Elle in the newsstands, giving Nayasha the edge. Most people I know who are really into CLOTHES don’t like celebrity subjects as much, either; probably because in some way looks for a star are infused with their persona to some degree. Give me IMPERSONAL, give me SUPERREAL!
Concept: Elle
Okay, seriously… the black hood… the raven… the TEARS OF INK *WAIL*… It’s as if Lady Gag-Gag herself has risen from the depths to remind us that we liked her last album better!
Clothes: Elle
Though weak in both departments! What clothes?
Hair: N/A
Skipping this category altogether, since I’ve deducted enough points for Nayasha’s bird-ninja look already.
Makeup: Elle
I like the warmth around the eye.
SECURING THE WIN FOR: ELLE FANNING
Catch you in the next round…
